Here is the simplest way to soak dried shark fins.

How to dry shark fins? The simplest method of drying shark fins

1. Method of preparing shark fin

There are many ways to soak shark fins, which can be basically divided into the following three types: soaking with edible alkali, evaporation, and slow stewing. Although soaking with alkali is the fastest, the taste of the shark fins soaked in the end is not good, it is salty, and the appearance of the finished product is not outstanding. The evaporation method will take longer, and although the evaporated shark fins are better in quality, it is difficult to remove the fishy smell of the shark fins. The two-pot stewing method not only takes a short time, but also can remove the fishy smell of the shark fins, and can make the shark fins taste good and have a moderate taste.

2. Method of stewing shark fin

First, wash the shark fin with clean water to remove dirt from the surface, cut off the edge of the shark fin with scissors, and then soak it in warm water. The temperature of the warm water should be about 30 to 40 degrees. After that, you can replace it with warm water every eight hours and soak it again. Repeat this process many times until the shark fin is fully soaked and fully expanded. Wrap the shark fin with bamboo rafts on both sides and simmer it for at least six hours, until the wing bones are separated. The shark fin is considered to be initially expanded. Pick out the bones and make sure there is no other residue before eating.
