Pumpkin high-yield technology, how to increase pumpkin production

Pumpkin high-yield technology, how to increase pumpkin production

In order to get a high yield of pumpkin, the technical level must be equal, so today I will introduce you to the high yield technology of pumpkin:

1. Choose the variety:

Choose local pumpkins with long seedlings and thick and large bodies as seeds, such as pillow melon, flat melon, ox-leg melon, Dahongpao melon, yellow petal melon, etc. It is not suitable to use varieties with short seedlings.

2. Seed soaking and germination:

Pumpkin seeds are exposed to the sun for 2 days, then placed in 50℃ hot water, stirred constantly, and when the water temperature drops to about 30℃, soak the seeds for 15-20 minutes, then cool naturally, and continue soaking for 7-12 hours. After soaking, germinate the seeds at a germination temperature of about 30℃, and they will germinate in two days.

3. Fine land preparation:

Choose a plot with good drainage, low groundwater level and fertile soil to plant pumpkin seedlings. Divide the plots into 1.5-meter-wide beds, dig furrows with a width of 30 cm and a depth of 15 to 20 cm, and dig drainage ditches on all four sides.

4. Sowing seeds at the right time:

In order to advance and extend the time to market, sowing is generally started in March, and can be sown in batches until August. Open sowing furrows with a row spacing of 20 cm and a plant spacing of 10 cm. Plant two seeds in each hole, water thoroughly after sowing, and cover with 2 cm thick nutrient soil.

5. Apply fertilizer in time and apply enough base fertilizer:

Put 2000-2500 kg of decomposed cow dung or 2500-3000 kg of soil and miscellaneous fertilizers and 20 kg of phosphate fertilizer per mu. After sowing, soak it with decomposed manure or biogas liquid water, then spread it on the bed surface with mulch, and compact it with soil around to keep it warm. After germination, let the seedlings grow under the film. Topdressing generally uses decomposed human and animal manure, and it is necessary to frequently topdress to ensure sufficient manure supply to promote rapid growth of melon seedlings. After each harvest, apply quick-acting nitrogen fertilizer to the plants in time to promote early axillary buds.

6. Timely harvest:

When the melon seedlings grow to 40 cm in height and have 5-6 true leaves, they can be harvested in batches, leaving 1-2 true leaves at the base and cutting off the tender seedlings at the top. When the axillary buds grow to 40 cm, they can be harvested again, and this can be repeated several times. Spraying 80 mg/kg "920" solution 5-7 days before each harvest can increase the yield by more than 30%, and can reduce the formation of crude fiber at the base. The melon seedlings will appear very tender and soft, and the quality will be improved.
