This trypsin inhibitor cannot be decomposed by general proteases in vitro and is difficult to digest in vivo. At a concentration of 1 mg/0.1 ml, it can extend the coagulation time of citrate plasma from 20 seconds to 60 seconds due to the inhibition of thrombin. Feeding rats with Indian lentils has the effect of lowering blood sugar and serum cholesterol.
