What to do if the mycelium of straw mushroom shrinks

What to do if the mycelium of straw mushroom shrinks

When we cultivate straw mushrooms, what should we do if the mycelium of straw mushrooms shrinks? Today I will tell you the specific methods:

1. Choose high-quality strains

If the fungus age is too long or too short, the fungus is degenerated, the mycelium is weak in vitality, the resistance is poor, or the fungus is stored in an environment with too low or too high temperature for a long time, the fungus will not germinate after sowing and the mycelium of the fungus block will shrink. Therefore, in production, it is necessary to select the fungus of appropriate age and high quality, and ensure that the temperature is not too low during the cultivation process.

2. Control the temperature of the culture medium

When the temperature is high, the culture medium is thick, and the insulation performance of the mushroom house is good, the temperature in the culture medium will exceed 42℃ for a long time after sowing, which will cause the mycelium to shrink, die or burn. When the temperature is low or the temperature difference between day and night is too large, it will also cause the mycelium to grow slowly or shrink. Generally, during the mycelium growth period, the material temperature cannot be lower than 30℃ for a long time; although the mycelium will grow when it is lower than 28℃, the yield is not high, or even no mushrooms will be produced. Based on this, pay close attention to the temperature and material temperature in the mushroom house after sowing. If the temperature is too high, ventilate and cool it down, or spray the space or pour water underground; when the temperature is low, keep warm and heat it in time.

3. Control the moisture content of the culture medium

In the cultivation of straw mushrooms, the abnormal growth of mycelium due to the dry culture medium is rare, but if the water content is too high, exceeding 75%, or the film is covered too tightly, the culture medium is not breathable, and the ventilation conditions in the mushroom house are not good, the mycelium will shrink or autolyze due to lack of oxygen. Therefore, when handling the culture medium, the principle of dry rather than wet should be grasped, and the amount of water should be appropriately increased when spraying "mushroom water".

4. Water adjustment should be appropriate

When adjusting water, if the water temperature is too low, the water flow is too strong, the water volume is too large, the mushroom buds are too small, and the ventilation is not timely, the mycelium will shrink or die. Therefore, when adjusting water, the water temperature must be above 5℃; if the material temperature is low, the water temperature should be above 30℃.

5. Prevent bacteria and pests

Competitive bacteria compete with the mycelium of the straw mushroom for nutrients. Pests, such as nematodes, mites, and mushroom fly larvae, eat the mycelium and cause infection by bacteria and viruses, which leads to mycelium shrinkage or death. To this end, the following items should be done well: the secondary fermentation should be thorough, and the bacteria and pests in the mushroom house should be killed in time; excellent strains should be selected, and the environment around the mushroom house should be kept clean.

6. Beware of drug damage

After sowing, if the drug is used improperly, the concentration is too high, the amount is too large, or the spray container has been filled with pesticides and has not been cleaned, or excessive urea is added to the material to produce heavy ammonia materials, etc., it will cause drug damage and cause mycelium to shrink or die. Therefore, before using the drug, you must prescribe the right medicine and read the instructions carefully. The container for spraying water must be used separately from the container for spraying pesticides to avoid poisoning.
