Whole wheat corn cake is delicious, so today I will tell you how to make it:

Corn Cake Introduction

Fagao is a very simple pasta that can be made well by anyone without any cooking skills. It is probably the simplest of all pastries, much simpler than steamed buns and other pasta.

Among them, corn cake is the most common, and the sweet taste of corn is very fascinating.

If you want a better taste, you can use one part corn + two parts wheat flour, which will make the texture very soft. You can also increase the ratio to 1:1.

I prefer to eat whole grains, and I happened to have no wheat flour or white flour at home, so I used half whole wheat and half corn flour to make pure whole grain steamed cake. The whole grains will affect the swelling power a bit, but it is very fragrant and healthy.

Whole wheat flour 100g Corn flour 100g

230g water, 3g baking powder

1.5 tsp dry yeast 1 tsp gluten flour

2 tsp sugar Cranberries as needed

How to make corn cake

1. Take a large bowl and pour in whole wheat flour and an equal amount of corn flour

2. Add baking powder and gluten powder and mix well

3. Add yeast and sugar to warm water and stir well. Let it stand for two or three minutes.

4. Pour the yeast water into the powder

5. Mix well

6. Brush a layer of oil on the mold to prevent sticking (6 inches)

7. Pour the mixed paste into the mold

8. Ferment until doubled in size

9. Sprinkle some dried fruits for decoration according to personal taste

10. Put it in the steamer, add cold water, and steam it on medium heat for 1 hour

Tips

1. It’s OK if the batter is fermented until it is twice as large, otherwise it will be over-fermented.

2. The ratio of gouache doesn't matter much, just control it yourself, as long as it's not too thin.

3. If you want a better taste, you need to add white flour, and the proportion must be more than coarse grains, otherwise the taste will be rough.

4. Gluten flour can improve the taste of this steamed cake.

5. The materials for surface decoration are optional, raisins and wolfberries are all fine, but if you don’t have them, just skip it.

6. Using white flour will make the bread more fluffy and have a relatively softer texture. Pure coarse grains will affect its expansion.

7. Do not open the lid during the steaming process. Wait 5 minutes after steaming before opening it.

Ingredients: 100g cornmeal 100g ordinary flour

10g red dates and white sugar

5g dry yeast 2g baking soda

1. The ratio of cornmeal to flour is 1:1.

2. Put cornmeal, flour, sugar and baking soda into the container and mix evenly.

3. Dissolve the yeast in warm water (not more than 35 degrees) and let it sit for 10 minutes. Add the yeast slowly and stir with chopsticks.

4. Use chopsticks to stir into a uniform thick paste (not too thin, otherwise it will taste sticky)

5. Cover the bowl (preferably with plastic wrap) and place in a warm place to ferment until it is more than double its original height.

6. Prepare a heat-resistant container with a regular shape and brush a little cooking oil inside the container for easier demoulding. If you don't have a container, you can directly spread it on the grate. Pour the fermented batter into the steamer and place the red dates on it. Remove the plastic wrap, put it in a steamer with cold water, and steam it on medium heat for 20 minutes, then turn to high heat for 15 minutes (if the quantity is large, you need to add more time).

Tips

1. Baking soda is easily ineffective when it comes into contact with water. First, mix the baking soda with cornmeal and flour evenly, and then add water;

2. The warm water used to melt the yeast should not exceed 35 degrees, otherwise it will become ineffective;

3. The batter should be thick, not too thin, otherwise it will taste sticky after steaming. ;

4. Cornmeal steamed cake tastes best when paired with red dates;

5. The household steamer is relatively small, so don’t make it too thick, otherwise it will not be easy to steam.

6. When it is cold and it is not easy to ferment, you can put a bowl of boiling water on the bottom of the upper baking net of the oven, so that it is easy to ferment;

7. The steaming time of steamed cake is relatively long, so add more
