How to make persimmons not astringent and crispy How to soak raw persimmons to make them crispy and sweet

Every autumn, a large number of fresh persimmons are available. These freshly picked persimmons taste astringent and are not crispy. They must be processed to become tender and sweet. Some people know that fresh persimmons can become crisp and sweet after soaking, but they don’t know much about the soaking method. Today, I will introduce it to you.

How to make persimmons not astringent but crisp

When buying freshly picked persimmons, choose those without scars or bruises to soak. Before soaking, prepare a larger container and clean the inner wall of the container. Then place the prepared fresh persimmons directly in the container, add an appropriate amount of pure water, and let the water in the container absorb all the persimmons. Then cover the container and soak it in a warm environment for 3 to 4 days. After soaking, take out the persimmons, peel off the skin and eat them. At this time, you will find that the astringency of the persimmons is gone, and it has become crisp, sweet and delicious.

How to soak raw persimmons to make them crisp and sweet

1. Soak in lime water

Soaking raw persimmons in quicklime water can make them crisp and sweet. When soaking raw persimmons, 700 grams of quicklime are needed for every ten kilograms of raw persimmons. Add the quicklime to an appropriate amount of clean water, mix well to make lime water, and then pour it into a sealed bucket or water tank. Then soak the prepared fresh persimmons in the lime water, keeping the ambient temperature between 20 and 25 degrees. After soaking for 3 to 4 days, take out the persimmons and they will become crisp and sweet.

2. Heating and soaking

Raw persimmons can become crispy and sweet after being heated and soaked. When necessary, you can put the raw persimmons you bought directly into an aluminum pot or bucket, and then add warm water above 45 degrees. All the persimmons in the bucket should be submerged, and the water temperature should be kept at around 40 degrees. After about 20 hours of soaking, the raw persimmons in the bucket will be completely free of astringency and become crispy, sweet and especially delicious.

3. Soak persimmon in water

Raw persimmons can also be soaked in persimmon water. The specific method is to take 3 to 5 small persimmons, mash them into a paste, then add water, mix it into persimmon water and put it in a jar, then put the persimmons to be soaked in the jar, and let the persimmon water submerge the persimmons. After covering the jar lid, put it in a warm environment. After two or three days, the persimmons in the jar can be taken out. At this time, the raw persimmons have become ripe, and the taste is crisp, sweet and especially delicious.
