Cardiovascular effects: Intravenous injection of 1-2 mg/kg of amorphous alkaloid Nn-9 to anesthetized cats can reduce blood pressure by 50% and maintain for 2-3 hours; the same dose can only last for 30 minutes for dogs; it has no antihypertensive effect on rabbits, and has rapid tolerance to the antihypertensive effect on cats and dogs. The antihypertensive mechanism of Nn-9 is mainly the release of histamine, which causes peripheral vasodilation, and is also related to neural factors. Intravenous injection of 10 mg/kg of lianxin alkaloid to anesthetized cats also has a short-term antihypertensive effect, which recovers in 10-20 minutes; but if it is changed to quaternary ammonium alkaloid, a strong and lasting antihypertensive effect will appear. From the experimental results, crystalline lianxin alkaloid is not the main antihypertensive component, while amorphous alkaloid Nn-9 has a strong antihypertensive effect.
