The difference between ice shrimp and sweet shrimpIce shrimp and sweet shrimp are the same product, just with different common names. The scientific name of wild Arctic shrimp is Pandalus borealis, also known as cold water shrimp, Arctic sweet shrimp, and Arctic ice shrimp. In some places in northern China, it is also called ice shrimp and seed shrimp. Wild Arctic shrimp is produced in the Arctic Ocean and the North Atlantic Ocean. All of them are wild shrimp. The main fishing countries are Canada, Greenland, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, etc. Modern shrimp boats sail the rough waters of the Far North all year round from ports adjacent to the Arctic and the North Atlantic to catch fresh wild Arctic shrimp. Large modern shrimp boats equipped with freezing facilities catch 100% natural, firm, slightly sweet and delicious Arctic shrimp in the natural, cold, clear and pollution-free waters under the polar night sun. These whole cooked Arctic shrimps do not use any additives. Their excellent quality comes from being quickly cooked in seawater on board at minus 30 degrees within a few minutes after being caught and immediately frozen. Each shrimp boat is equipped with a modern processing line that has been inspected by the government and is strictly controlled in accordance with relevant regulations. Wild Arctic shrimp is also praised by the most discerning consumers around the world, including royal restaurants in Europe, sushi restaurants in Japan, and high-end restaurants and home consumers in China. Arctic shrimp grow in the cold seawater environment at a depth of 200-250 meters. They grow slowly, and it takes 3 to 4 years for them to grow to commercial size (normally farmed shrimp only takes no more than 3-4 months to grow to commercial size). Therefore, the meat is dense; and the individuals are also smaller than ordinary warm water shrimp, with an average size of about 120-150 per kilogram. The finished Arctic shrimps are packed into multi-layer cartons on the shrimp boats, with each box weighing 5 kg. The shrimp boats return to the port regularly to unload the cargo. The cooked and frozen Arctic shrimps are loaded onto refrigerated container ships and shipped to all parts of the world. China is also an important importer of wild Arctic shrimps, importing about 30,000 tons of high-quality Arctic shrimps every year. The cooked Arctic shrimp is pink in color, firm in texture and has a unique sweet taste, so it is also called Arctic sweet shrimp in China. Since Arctic shrimp is already cooked, Chinese consumers can easily defrost and eat it. It can also be used as an ingredient in many delicious home-cooked dishes or restaurant dishes. These slightly sweet Arctic shrimps have an attractive red shell and look very beautiful. |
