How to make candied haws How to make candied haws

When I was a child, I often heard the hawking of candied haws. Until now, many people's memories and love for candied haws have not faded. They usually want to make some delicious candied haws for their families at home, but they just don’t know how to make it. Today I will write down the specific methods so that everyone can easily learn how to make candied haws.

How to make candied haws

1. When making candied haws at home, you need to prepare 500 grams of hawthorn, 150 grams of rock sugar, 150 grams of boiling water, and an appropriate amount of bamboo sticks.

2. Wash the prepared hawthorn with clean water, then remove its stem and stalk, then cut the hawthorn in the middle with a knife and dig out the core inside.

3. Put the prepared large pieces of rock sugar on a plate, heat them in a microwave oven on high heat for one minute, take them out and grind them into fine powder. Thread the processed hawthorns with clean bamboo sticks and set aside.

4. Put the rock sugar in a pot, add the same amount of boiling water, and heat it over high heat. During the heating process, stir constantly with a spatula. After all the rock sugar in the pot has dissolved, simmer over low heat until the syrup in the pot begins to bubble and turn yellow.

5. After the syrup in the pot is boiled, quickly put the pre-pierced hawthorns into the syrup and roll them around so that their surfaces are evenly coated with the syrup. After taking out the boiled syrup, place it on an iron plate to cool it down. After the syrup on the surface solidifies, the homemade candied haws are ready.

6. When making candied haws at home, boiling the syrup is the most important step. After melting the rock sugar over medium heat, use low heat to slowly boil until the syrup forms in the pot. Stir constantly during the boiling process and observe carefully. Only by mastering the heat of the syrup can you make the candied haws with good color, aroma and taste.
