Pineapple tastes sweet and sour, and is a tropical fruit that everyone is familiar with and likes to eat. But have you ever tried to make pineapple into a potted plant and grow it at home? Pineapple can not only grow in the fields of the south, but also be made into a potted plant. I will sort out its planting method in a while, and you will understand it after reading it. 1. Choose healthy pineapple When planting pineapples in pots, be sure to choose healthy pineapples! Because pineapples in most parts of the country are transported from the south, many pineapple leaves have dried up and are no longer suitable for potted planting. It is best to choose pineapples with fresh, green leaves for potted planting, which will increase its success rate. 2. Processing pineapple leaves When you buy a pineapple and bring it home, you must process its leaves before planting it in a pot. Try to leave as much tissue at the bottom as possible. You can cut off the top bud with a knife and remove the coating underneath. Dry it in a cool environment for 2 to 3 days to allow the wound to heal naturally. 3. Hydroponic rooting After the pineapple is processed, it needs to be rooted in water. You can take a large glass bottle, fill it half with water, then insert the top bud of the pineapple to lure the roots, and put it in the water bottle. Pay attention to the water level. Do not cover all of its roots. Leave a certain amount of breathing space. Under normal circumstances, the pineapple will grow new roots after 7 to 10 days. 4. Transplanting to pots After the pineapple grows new roots, you can directly transplant it into a flowerpot. The soil in the flowerpot should be fertile, loose, and acidic. After it is transplanted into the flowerpot, it should be watered enough, but during its normal cultivation period, it does not need excessive watering, as long as the pot soil is kept moist. However, the potted pineapple should be placed in a sunny environment. After more than half a year of management, you can see the flower buds, and it will take about 200 days for the fruit to be produced. |
