The dangers of genetically modified foods

What is genetically modified food? Genetically modified food is a process in which one or several exogenous genes are transferred into a certain organism and the corresponding product (peptide or protein) is effectively expressed. So what can eating genetically modified food bring to the human body?

The dangers of genetically modified foods

1. Genetically modified organisms are against nature

This is the view of some people. Many people think that genetically modified food is against the laws of nature. Genetically modified food is not the original variety and can no longer provide the most original energy for the human body.

2. GMOs may cause biological pollution

Why do I say that? Because some biotechnology companies have "sterilized" some genetically modified seeds in order to protect their intellectual property rights, but this behavior will cause other species to be infertile.

3. Genetically modified organisms may harm people’s health

How can I explain this? Genetically modified plants contain genes that are resistant to herbicides and insecticides. Many people would think that such genetically modified foods are likely to be directly harmful to the human body.

4. Genetically modified foods may affect agriculture and the ecological environment

The promotion of herbicide-resistant GM crops could encourage farmers to overuse herbicides, which could harm or even wipe out some non-staple crops that farmers in many developing countries rely on as supplementary food or feed.
