Their function is to protect the eye's microvessels and promote blood circulation. At the same time, they have the ability to accelerate the regeneration of visual purple, which is indispensable for good vision.

Blueberries may prevent disease

Blueberries are rich in anthocyanins. A recent US research report pointed out that blueberries contain the highest content of anthocyanins among all fruits and vegetables, and the part of blueberries that is richest in anthocyanins is its unique purple peel. Anthocyanins have significant effects on vascular sclerosis, heart disease, slowing down aging, and enhancing memory. In particular, they can increase collagen, reduce intraocular pressure, relieve eye fatigue, and are beneficial to glaucoma and cataracts. Blueberries have a high ability to absorb free radicals (ORAC value), which can reduce the damage of oxygen free radicals to cell membranes, DNA and other cell components, and prevent functional disorders in the body and the occurrence of many elderly diseases.

Blueberries are rich in nutrients

Blueberry is rich in nutrition. In addition to the conventional sugar, acid, vitamin C, and mineral elements, blueberry also contains special ingredients such as niacin, SOD, and flavonoids. It can be seen that blueberry not only has good health effects such as preventing brain nerve aging, strengthening the heart, and anti-cancer, but also is a nutritious fruit.

The limited raw materials have become a bottleneck. Blueberry wine has a "dry head". The source of blueberries has become a bottleneck restricting the development of the blueberry wine industry. Blueberries grown in the south are mainly used in the fruit and beverage markets, while blueberries in the northeast have become the only raw material for supplying blueberry wine.

"Although there are already many blueberries planted in Jiangsu, Sichuan, Hubei, Guizhou and Zhejiang, the blueberries produced in these places are currently mainly supplied to the fruit and beverage markets, and are rarely used in the brewing of blueberry wine." Experts from the Blueberry Research and Development Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences introduced that the main raw materials for blueberry wine in my country are still concentrated in the Northeast, mainly wild blueberries.

It is understood that blueberry wine has a good reputation among consumers. Since the raw materials come from the wild and rely on nature, the unstable production leads to an unstable market. Since the early 1990s, blueberry wine has gradually faded out of people's sight.

In recent years, under the trend of advocating natural and healthy diet, blueberry wine has regained market vitality, with both sales and prices increasing significantly. However, due to the high requirements for blueberry cultivation, the blueberry wine industry still cannot obtain sufficient raw materials, and its production capacity is greatly restricted.

Strengthen investment in science and technology and expand the scale of the industry. According to experts, blueberries are blue and nearly round, with a single fruit weight of 0.5 and a maximum of 3.5-, delicate flesh, and moderate sweetness and sourness. Since the 21st century, a new generation of woody small berries represented by blueberries have been praised as the third generation of fruits in the international market. Blueberries are rich in nutrients and are a nutritional health fruit with high amino acids, zinc, calcium, iron, copper, and vitamins.

However, the history of blueberry cultivation is less than 100 years. It first began in the United States. After that, countries around the world competed to introduce and cultivate blueberries. Developed countries and regions such as Europe, Oceania, and Japan have successively entered the commercial cultivation and production stage.

Experts from the Blueberry Research and Development Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences said that since the late 1980s, the center has taken the lead in conducting research on the introduction of blueberries in southern my country to explore the possibility of planting in the hilly areas of southern my country. After years of observation and research, small-scale trial planting experiments have been carried out in Jiangsu, Sichuan, Hubei and Guizhou since 1999, and large-scale planting began in 2004. The center and local experts have overcome many difficulties and basically figured out the reproduction rules of blueberries, so that the survival rate of cuttings of blueberry types that are difficult to propagate has reached more than 80%.
