Beauty melon

Watermelon is cold in nature, sweet in taste, and enters the heart, stomach, and bladder meridians; it has the effects of clearing away heat and relieving summer heat, promoting fluid production and quenching thirst, and promoting diuresis and relieving restlessness; it is mainly used to treat chest and diaphragm qi stagnation, fullness and discomfort, difficulty urinating, sores in the mouth and nose, summer heat, heatstroke, and detoxification of alcohol.

The efficacy of melon

1. Relieve heat: In midsummer, the sun is scorching, and some people feel chest tightness, mental depression, fatigue, dizziness, loss of appetite, weight loss, or low fever. As the hot weather continues, the symptoms increase, and they gradually recover after the cool autumn. The next year, it may be repeated, but there is no organic lesion in various examinations. This series of symptoms is commonly known as summer heat. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that summer heat is caused by the summer heat and humidity invading the human body and blocking the spleen and stomach qi in the middle jiao. Especially if children drink too many drinks and women do not exercise much, they are very likely to have this disease. After "summer heat", you will lose more than 10kg in a summer, and you will gradually recover after summer and autumn. In addition to seeing a doctor and taking medicine, patients should use watermelon peel and 2 taels of peanuts, 1 tael of malt, and 1 tael of millet to cook into a thick soup. Take it for six or seven days in a row, and your appetite will increase greatly.

2. Treating heatstroke: If you suddenly feel dizzy and have a fever in summer, but you don't have vomiting or diarrhea, you can drink watermelon juice, two or three cups a day, and the mild case will be cured. If the fever persists, you can use 9 grams of light black beans and 6 grams of Elsholtzia to make soup as a medicine, and then drink watermelon juice, which can also cure it. If a person with heatstroke suddenly faints or vomits and has diarrhea, he should seek emergency treatment from a doctor, and this prescription should not be used. But after taking the medicine and recuperating, it is also appropriate to drink watermelon juice instead of drinks.

The role of melon

1. Summer acne: 100g mung beans, add 1500ml water, boil, remove the mung beans 10 minutes after boiling, 500g watermelon rind (no need to peel), boil and cool. Drink the soup several times a day. The mung beans in the recipe are sweet and cool, which can reduce swelling, relieve gas, clear away heat and detoxify; the watermelon rind is sweet and cold, which can clear away heat and relieve summer heat, relieve restlessness and quench thirst.

2. Strengthen the spleen and relieve heat: 100 grams of fresh watermelon peel and 10 dates, boil them together and drink it as tea every day.

3. To enhance sexual performance: Cut the watermelon rind into strips, blanch it in boiling water, remove it, and eat it with cooked shredded chicken and lean meat with seasoning.

Nutritional value of melon

Watermelon rind, also known as watermelon green skin, is sweet and cold in nature. It can relieve heat and clear away heat, stop thirst, and promote diuresis. In the dry season, it has certain auxiliary therapeutic effects on sore throat, mouth ulcers and diabetes.

Although watermelon is good, there are some things to pay attention to when eating it. Chinese medicine experts believe that watermelon is a cold food that can easily damage the spleen and stomach, so people with weak spleen and stomach, chronic enteritis, gastritis, duodenal ulcers, or loose stools should eat less. Normal people should not eat too much, otherwise it will damage the spleen and stomach and cause indigestion or diarrhea. One thing that needs to be warned is that patients with colds and fevers in summer often use watermelons to replenish water and reduce fever, but because it is a sweet and cold food, it is not suitable for colds and the early stages of colds, especially for those with symptoms such as chills and no sweating. Modern medical research shows that the sugar, salt, acid and other substances contained in watermelon have the effect of treating nephritis and lowering blood pressure. This is because the right amount of sugar can be diuretic; the right amount of potassium salt can eliminate kidney inflammation; the enzymes in it can convert insoluble proteins into soluble proteins to increase the nutrition of patients with nephritis; and the glycosides in the melon have the effect of lowering blood pressure.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that watermelon is the most nutritious, purest and safest beverage. It has the functions of promoting salivation, relieving restlessness, quenching thirst, relieving heat, clearing the lungs and stomach, promoting urination, aiding digestion and promoting metabolism. It is a food and beverage that can nourish the body and replenish the body. It is suitable for people with hypertension, hepatitis, nephritis, pyelonephritis, jaundice, cholecystitis, edema, heatstroke, fever, sweating and thirst.

Although watermelon is good, some patients cannot eat too much. For example, if diabetic patients eat too much, their condition will be aggravated; if people with weak constitution and cold stomach eat too much, they will experience abdominal distension, diarrhea and loss of appetite; if patients with congestive heart failure and chronic kidney disease eat too much, the burden on the heart and kidneys will increase sharply due to the rapid increase in water content; if people with oral ulcers eat too much, the degree of ulcer will be aggravated due to the cold nature of watermelon. If watermelon is placed in the refrigerator, the above patients should not eat it. People with weak constitution before the summer solstice and after the beginning of autumn should not eat it either.
