How to grow lotus bowls? How to grow lotus bowls?

Bowl lotus is a kind of lotus, which is what people usually call mini lotus. This plant can be made into potted plants and cultivated at home. It has a very high ornamental value. But how should bowl lotus be cultivated? What is its planting method?

How to plant lotus

1. Planting time

When cultivating bowl lotus, you must pay attention to its planting time. This plant can be sown in all seasons, but the water temperature must be controlled at around 16 degrees during sowing, otherwise its seeds will be difficult to germinate normally. After its seeds germinate, they must be moved to an environment of 20 to 30 degrees. Only in this way can the bowl lotus grow normally.

2. Planting method

When planting water lilies, you must first crack the seeds. You can use a knife to make a small hole at the source. Only in this way can water penetrate into the inside of the seeds and make them germinate as soon as possible. Put the cracked seeds in 30-degree warm water to germinate. After 2 to 7 days, small buds will grow. Then you can plant them directly in water or in a flowerpot.

3. Matrix preparation

When cultivating bowl lotus, you need to prepare a suitable substrate for it. It is an aquatic plant. You can usually add fertilizer to clean water and then add an appropriate amount of pond mud to mix well. Finally, plant the cultivated bowl lotus seedlings. After planting, you can spread a layer of stones on the water surface, which will make its ornamental value higher.

4. Ensure sufficient sunlight

The lotus is a light-loving plant. It must be provided with sufficient sunlight during normal cultivation. If there is insufficient sunlight, the growth of this plant will be very slow and it will affect flowering. Only by placing it in a sunny environment can its pot soil be warmed up, so that it can grow quickly and its flowering period can be advanced and extended. In addition, the lotus should not be over-fertilized during cultivation. When applying topdressing, it must be applied with thin liquid fertilizer, otherwise it will only grow leaves but not bloom.
