It is the favorite green foliage plant of many people in life, but people don’t know much about how to make it into a potted plant and the things that need to be paid attention to when cultivating it. Today, the editor will introduce it to you.

Potted Schefflera methods and techniques

1. Prepare potting soil

When making Schefflera into a potted plant at home, the preparation of the potting soil is particularly important. Be sure to give it some loose and fertile soil. It is best to mix it with leaf mold, peat soil and garden soil in a certain proportion. In addition, when preparing the potting soil, add an appropriate amount of cake fertilizer as base fertilizer.

2. Planting in pots

When making potted Schefflera, the method of planting it in the pot is also very important. At this time, you must choose healthy and strong seedlings, and transplant them into the pots before the seedlings sprout in spring or late autumn. After transplanting, you must water it enough to compact the soil and place it in a semi-shaded environment with weak sunlight. After ten days, you can move it to a suitable environment for cultivation.

Precautions

1. If you choose a plastic pot for Schefflera, you must pay attention to drainage during the cultivation period. Do not allow water to accumulate in the pot. When watering, you must follow the principle of not watering when the soil is not dry and watering thoroughly when you do. In the summer, you should spray water on its leaves in time when the weather is dry. In winter, you should reduce the water supply after Schefflera enters its dormant period.

2. When growing potted Schefflera at home, you must also pay attention to timely repotting and regular pruning. This plant grows very fast and should be repotted once a year. New potting soil should be replaced when repotting. It should also be pruned every three to four months. All the long branches, old branches and dead branches of the potted Schefflera should be removed in time. This will not only keep the potted Schefflera's beautiful appearance, but also make it grow more vigorously.
