How to cultivate fragrant wood? What should be paid attention to when cultivating fragrant wood?

The fragrant wood is a green foliage plant that mostly grows in Yunnan, China. The leaves of this plant have a natural fragrance. It is shade-tolerant, elegant in appearance and has a particularly high ornamental value. Many people like to make it into a potted plant and grow it at home, but they don’t know much about its cultivation methods, nor do they know what to pay attention to during the cultivation period. Today, the editor will introduce these professional issues to you.

Cultivation method of fragrant wood

1. Reproduction method

The fragrant wood can be propagated by sowing and cuttings, but sowing propagation is more troublesome. Cuttings are most commonly used. Before cuttings, the substrate should be disinfected, and the one-year-old branches of the strong mother tree should be selected to make cuttings. Then the substrate should be planted in moist, warm, slightly acidic soil. It will take root in about 40 days, and then it can be directly transplanted into a pot.

2. Moderate light

Many people have heard that the fragrant wood is a shade-loving plant and like to place it in a cool environment for a long time. In fact, this is also possible. The fragrant wood also needs moderate sunlight for normal growth. If there is insufficient light, the leaves will turn yellow and the growth will slow down. However, when exposing it to sunlight, it must not be exposed to strong light, and the time it receives sunlight per day should not exceed four hours.

3. Water moderately

Fragrant wood is a plant that likes a humid environment. It should be watered frequently after planting, once every three days. When watering, be sure to water it thoroughly, but do not let water accumulate in the pot, otherwise its roots will rot severely and the fragrant wood will die.

Breeding precautions

When growing the fragrant wood, you must be careful not to place it near the wind outlet and not let it be exposed to strong winds, otherwise its leaves will be blown off by the wind. In addition, when growing the fragrant wood, you must pay attention to the temperature of the breeding environment. It likes a warm environment. After entering winter, you must pay attention to keeping warm. If the temperature of the breeding environment drops below five degrees, its leaves will turn yellow and fall off. If it drops below zero, the fragrant wood will die due to the low temperature.
