Difference Between Daffodil and Garlic

Daffodils are beautiful flowers and plants that are mostly for people to enjoy, while garlic is a common vegetable in life and is mostly used as a condiment. However, some people in life cannot distinguish between these two plants and sometimes mistake garlic for daffodils. In fact, there are many differences between daffodils and garlic. Let me show you the differences between daffodils and garlic.

Difference Between Daffodil and Garlic

1. The garlic plant family of daffodils is different

Narcissus is an ornamental plant, which belongs to the Amaryllis family, while garlic is a plant of the Liliaceae family. From a botanical point of view, there is a huge difference between the two. Although the leaves of daffodils and garlic are similar, daffodils will bloom small yellow flowers, while garlic will not bloom, but will grow unique garlic stalks.

2. The roots of daffodils and garlic are different

The daffodil plant has a garlic-like stem, but this stem is white or brown, and there are no garlic cloves. It is similar to an onion, existing in layers. In addition to garlic cloves, garlic can be divided into purple garlic and white garlic. This is the fundamental difference between the two.

3. Narcissus and garlic have different uses

Daffodil is an ornamental plant and is not edible. It is highly toxic and can cause severe poisoning if consumed by humans. Garlic, on the other hand, is a common food. Not only the garlic heads can be eaten, but the garlic sprouts and garlic stalks during the growth period can also be eaten by humans, providing the human body with a variety of nutrients.
