Barley and Purple Rice Oatmeal Porridge

I don't know if it's because of the cold weather or the dry weather, but I want to drink porridge and soup every day. I have stored various grains at home, so I like to cook them together. Let me tell you why the porridge I cooked this time is called the Three Flavors Congee for Nourishing Beauty. Coix seed is my magic weapon for removing dampness and swelling. Someone warned me before that women should use it with caution during special periods, so even on weekdays I add some blood-enriching materials such as red beans and purple rice. I put oatmeal mainly because I like the thick and sticky feeling (otherwise I always feel like I'm eating porridge made from leftovers). If you don't like this taste, you can leave it out. I don't like sweet porridge very much, especially when I eat it as a staple food every day (I wish I could eat it every meal), I prefer the aroma of the grains themselves. Coix seed has high nutritional value (containing 13.7% protein, 5.4% fat, and 64.7% carbohydrates), and the protein it contains is much higher than that of ordinary rice and white flour. Everyone knows that coix seed beauty can keep the skin shiny and delicate if eaten regularly, and eliminate acne and freckles, age spots, pregnancy spots, butterfly spots, etc. I like coix seed mainly because of its dehumidifying and diuretic effect, especially before the special period of women. The various enzymes contained in oats have strong vitality and can help delay cell aging. Oats and coix seed both contain linoleic acid, which can inhibit the increase of cholesterol.
