Cultivation methods and techniques of daffodils

Narcissus, also known as Lingbo Fairy or Rape Platform, is a beautiful ornamental plant with a charming fragrance all over its body. Narcissus can be grown in water or in pots. It grows mostly in the warm areas of southern China. It has a strong fragrance and stands gracefully. It has a particularly high ornamental value. People usually like to grow it at home, but they don’t know much about the cultivation methods of daffodils. They don’t know how to grow daffodils well. Today, the editor will introduce this knowledge to you.

1. Select bulbs

When growing daffodils, selecting bulbs is the most important step. When choosing bulbs, you can look at their shape and color, or feel them by pressing them. Those bulbs that are large, flat, hard, and have wide longitudinal veins on the surface are high-quality bulbs. In addition, those bulbs that feel elastic when pressed by hand and are relatively solid with many flower arrows are suitable for cultivation.

2. Choose the environment

When growing daffodils, you must pay attention to the choice of environment. Daffodils like sunlight and warm and humid air. They have poor cold resistance, but are also afraid of heat. When growing them in pots, you need to prepare moist but non-waterlogged sandy soil. After planting, this plant mostly grows in autumn, blooms in winter, stores nutrients in spring, and goes into a dormant state in summer.

3. Cultivation methods

Daffodils are mainly grown in water, and the shallow water immersion method should be chosen. Put the prepared daffodil bulbs into the pot after germination treatment, and then add clean water to submerge 1/3 of the bulbs. Then put an appropriate amount of quartz sand and pebbles in the pot to fix the bulbs. Place them in a sunny environment during the day and move them indoors at night. Pour out the water in the pot at night to prevent its leaves from growing wildly. Get up early the next day and add clean water to it, which is conducive to its healthy growth and early flowering.
