Camellia cultivation methods and precautions

Camellia has bright and varied colors, green leaves, long flowering period, and attractive fragrance. It is the favorite ornamental plant for many people. However, it is not easy to grow camellia well. You must master certain breeding methods and have a comprehensive understanding of the precautions for growing camellia. The following editor will specifically introduce this knowledge. Those of you who like to grow camellia can focus on it.

Farming methods

1. Correct soil preparation

If you want to grow camellia well, you must choose the right soil. It is best to mix leaf mold, sandy soil and manure soil in a one-to-one ratio. You can also mix four parts of leaf mold, five parts of peat soil, five parts of coarse sand and one part of coarse sand. After preparing the potting soil, plant it directly and water it with enough water.

2. Light and temperature

Light and temperature are very important for growing camellia. Camellia is a long-lived plant. It can only form flower buds in a daily environment of 12 hours. It is best to place it in a sunny environment. Camellia grows fastest in an environment of 15 to 25 degrees. It is most suitable for flowering between 10 and 20 degrees. When the external temperature is higher than 35 degrees, its leaves will be injured.

3. Watering and fertilizing

Camellia is a plant with strong vitality. It does not require much water and fertilizer. However, it is best not to use tap water directly for watering. You should store tap water in a pot for two days to allow the fumes in the tap water to evaporate. Then add an appropriate amount of ferrous sulfate and water the camellia. When cultivating camellia, you should not apply concentrated fertilizer. Usually, you should use thin cake fertilizer as the main fertilizer. During its peak growth season, you can fertilize it once every 15 days.

Precautions

When growing camellia in the rainy season, you must pay attention to timely drainage to avoid water accumulation in the flowerpot, which may cause root rot. In addition, after entering summer, camellia should not be exposed to strong sunlight. When the outside temperature exceeds 35 degrees, the camellia should be moved to a cool environment in time to prevent its leaves from being burned by strong light.
