Hibernation cultivation method of Amaryllis

Hibernation cultivation method of Amaryllis

Amaryllis is a beautiful flower, which is mostly grown in pots indoors. However, many people do not manage Amaryllis in winter, which often causes Amaryllis to die in winter. So what is the hibernation cultivation method of Amaryllis? If you want to know more, you can follow the editor to have a look.

Hibernation cultivation method of Amaryllis

1. Amaryllis hibernates at a suitable temperature

When raising Amaryllis, the indoor temperature should be appropriate after it enters hibernation, and must be above zero degrees. If the lowest indoor temperature is around nine degrees, but there is a large temperature difference between day and night, you should also pay attention to the maintenance of Amaryllis and carry out appropriate insulation treatment, otherwise it will not be able to grow healthily due to the large temperature changes.

2. Sunlight conditions for Amaryllis hibernation

There are two ways for Amaryllis to hibernate. One is evergreen dormancy with leaves, and the other is deciduous dormancy after all the leaves have fallen off. Potted plants should try to choose dormancy with leaves. The best way at this time is to place Amaryllis in a sunny place frequently, let it receive sunlight, and the indoor temperature should be appropriately higher, so that the leaves of Amaryllis will not fall off during hibernation.

3. Fertilizer and water management of Amaryllis hibernation

After Amaryllis enters hibernation, it will stop growing completely. At this time, you should stop supplying fertilizer to avoid damaging its roots. The supply of water should also be controlled, but it cannot be completely stopped. You should water Amaryllis once every ten days or so, because the plant will also breathe in hibernation and also needs a certain amount of water.
