The difference between spoiled food and non-spoiled food

Food spoilage often occurs in our daily lives, but some people do not understand the difference between spoiled food and non-spoiled food. In fact, there are many differences between them, and there will be certain changes in color, taste and texture. Today I will tell you specifically what the differences are between spoiled food and non-spoiled food.

The difference between spoiled food and non-spoiled food

1. Spoiled food has a sour smell

Some foods rich in carbohydrates in our lives, such as grains, vegetables and fruits, will produce a distinct sour smell after they go bad. This is because carbohydrates will become sour under the action of microorganisms or enzymes. For example, rotting fruits, sour pastries and spoiled rice are all manifestations of food spoilage, and are also the biggest difference between them and coal-spoiled foods.

2. Spoiled food has a musty smell

Some foods contaminated by mold will become moldy in a warm and humid environment, which is also an obvious sign of food spoilage. Mold exists in foods that contain a large number of carbohydrates. Grain is the food that is most susceptible to mold. After it deteriorates, it will have a pungent musty smell, while non-spoiled grain will not have this smell.

3. Spoiled food has a rancid smell

In our daily life, foods that contain a relatively large amount of protein will often become corrupt and produce a noticeable rancid smell when they go bad, especially some meats and fish, which have a very obvious rancid smell after they go bad. Fresh, unspoiled meat and fish only have a faint meaty smell, and no rancid smell. This is also the most obvious difference between them.
