1. Identification method of beeswax

In life, beeswax that contains a lot of succinic acid will be darker in color, and those produced in acidic soils will also be darker in color, mostly dark yellow. Those beeswax with less succinic acid content will be lighter in color.

2. Beeswax identification method 2

Sulfur can be used to identify beeswax. After sulfide is added to beeswax, its color will become lighter, and in severe cases it will turn blue-purple. If sulfide is added to beeswax and it turns green, it means that the quality of this beeswax is not good, or it is a fake.

3. Beeswax test with salt water

When identifying beeswax, you can use salt water to test it. Place the prepared beeswax in salt water. The real beeswax will float on the water, while those containing a lot of impurities will sink to the bottom of the water. However, lightweight plastic and acrylic will also float on the water, so everyone should pay attention to distinguish them.

4. Identify beeswax with a hot needle

When identifying beeswax, you can heat the needle and then insert it into an inconspicuous part of the beeswax. If there is a faint smell of rosin, it means it is real beeswax. If there is an unpleasant smell, it means the beeswax is fake or of poor quality and it is not recommended to buy.
