Planting methods and tips for glass lettuce

Have you ever eaten glass lettuce? It is a special variety of lettuce, which has excellent weight loss effect. It is a shallow-rooted herb and does not require a high growth environment. I will write about the planting method of glass lettuce later. Friends who like to eat lettuce can grow some by themselves.

How to grow glass lettuce

1. Glass lettuce seedling transplanting

Glass lettuce can be planted on the balcony at home, but after planting, it needs to be raised first, and then transplanted after the seedlings grow two or three leaves. When raising seedlings, you can first water the potting soil in the pot, then sprinkle the seeds, and then cover them with 0.5 cm thick soil. They will germinate after five days and can be transplanted after about ten days.

2. Management of glass lettuce

The lettuce should be fertilized about a week after transplanting. The best way to fertilize is to spray nitrogen fertilizer. Organic fertilizer should be applied once two weeks after planting. In addition, when it is in the peak growth season, water should be supplied in time to keep the soil moist. Water it every two days. When the outside temperature is high, water it in the morning and evening every day.

3. Harvesting of glass lettuce

Glass lettuce tastes best when it is fresh and tender. It should be harvested in time when it has grown and has not shown any signs of aging. When harvesting, you can pull it directly out of the soil. If you wait until the main stem of the lettuce has grown tall before harvesting it, it will not be suitable for human consumption because the glass lettuce will age quickly after being grown tall.
