How to make candied taro

Ingredients for making candied taro

When making candied taro, you need to prepare 500 grams of taro, 10 grams of sesame seeds, and a slice of ginger. In addition, you need to prepare two grams of white sugar and 750 grams of vegetable oil.

Specific steps for making candied taro

1. Peel off the skin of the taro, wash it with clean water, and cut it into dices for later use. Pick out the sesame seeds by hand to remove the impurities and set aside.

2. Put a large portion of the prepared vegetable oil into the pot and heat it to 60% hot. Then put the cut taro pieces into the oil and fry them until the surface of the taro pieces turns golden brown, then take them out and drain the oil.

3. Remove the oil from the pot and leave a small amount of bottom oil. Add the prepared white sugar and stir-fry slowly over low heat. Chop the ginger slices and stir-fry with the white sugar. When the white sugar is about to melt, add a small amount of water.

4. When a large number of bubbles appear in the white sugar in the pot, quickly put the fried taro pieces into the pot, then stir-fry quickly. After the syrup is all coated on the surface of the taro pieces, remove from the pot immediately, sprinkle the prepared sesame seeds on the surface of the taro and serve.
