Planting methods and techniques of water spinach

Have you ever eaten water spinach? Do you know how to grow it? Water spinach is a vegetable with particularly high nutritional value. It is grown in many regions of China and plays an important role in the economy. Today I will give a detailed introduction to the planting methods of water spinach. Friends who like to eat water spinach and have the conditions can grow some by themselves.

How to plant water spinach

1. Sowing of water spinach

When sowing water spinach, the amount of seeds used should be 800 grams per square meter. Before sowing, soak them in 1/1000 thiophanate-methyl for half an hour, take them out and wash them, and then soak them in clean water for 24 hours. After taking them out, they can be germinated in an environment of 30 degrees. After the seeds germinate, they can be sown.

2. Fertilizer and water management of water spinach

Water spinach is a plant that can be harvested multiple times. During its growth period, it needs sufficient fertilizer and water. In addition to applying enough base fertilizer at the time of sowing, it is also necessary to apply topdressing multiple times during the growth period to achieve high yields of water spinach. When applying topdressing to water spinach, the fertilizer should be diverse. Human feces and urine are mainly used in the seedling stage. After it grows three to four leaves, compound fertilizer and urea can be applied.

3. Harvesting water spinach

Water spinach is usually harvested around 40 days after planting, when the plant will grow to about 35 cm. If it is not harvested in time, the quality of the water spinach will decline. Here we should warn you that when harvesting water spinach for the first and second time, you need to leave two to three nodes at the base, which will be more conducive to the subsequent growth of water spinach and significantly increase the yield of water spinach.
