Eggplant seedling raising technology

Eggplant seedling raising technology

The eggplant seedling raising process is also very important, so today I will introduce you to the eggplant seedling raising technology:

Overview of eggplant seedling cultivation

Eggplant seedlings grow slowly, especially under insufficient temperature conditions. The seedlings are not old enough, making it difficult to cultivate early-maturing large seedlings. The seedlings generally need to be 85-90 days old.

In order to prevent sudden wilt and damping-off disease in the seedling stage, in addition to paying attention to maintaining a suitable soil temperature at night, you can also use "Fifth Generation Agent" (a mixture of equal amounts of pentachloronitrobenzene and mancozeb) to disinfect the soil. Use 8-9g of disinfected soil per square meter of seedbed and mix it evenly with the bed soil. After using the medicine, the amount of irrigation should be appropriately increased to prevent drug damage. The bed soil should be fertile and not too dry.

Eggplant seedling planting

The seedling raising methods of eggplants are basically the same, and they are all done in greenhouses, hotbeds or sunbeds. However, it is difficult to germinate eggplants, and the temperature requirement is relatively high. Before sowing, scald the seeds with warm water at 55-60℃, stir while pouring, and stop stirring when the temperature drops to about 20℃. Soak them for a day and night, remove them, rub off the mucus on the seeds, rinse them with clean water, and place them in a place with 25-30℃ for germination. During the germination period, the environmental humidity should be maintained at 85%, and sowing can be done when 30%-500% of the seeds are white.

When sowing, sprinkle the seedbed with warm water first, then spread the seeds evenly in the bed, and cover with fine soil 0.8-1cm thick. Immediately after sowing, cover the arch shed, cover with straw at night to keep warm, keep the bed temperature at 26-28℃ during the day and around 20℃ at night before germination, and 50%-60% of the seedlings will emerge in about 4-5 days. After germination, cool down in time, around 25℃ during the day and 15-17℃ at night, and slightly lower on cloudy days.

Eggplant seedlings

When the seedlings have 2 to 3 true leaves, they can be transplanted. The main method of transplanting seedlings is to transplant them into sunny beds or plastic arch sheds. The bed soil should be fertile, and in particular, a certain amount of quick-acting nitrogen fertilizer should be maintained. In addition, a certain amount of nutrient area should be retained for each seedling, preferably 10cm×10cm. After transplanting, the plastic arch shed should be covered immediately, and at night it must be covered with straw thatch and sealed tightly, and a certain temperature should be maintained (up to 20-25℃). After the seedlings have recovered, ventilation and cooling should be started, 25℃ during the day and 15℃ at night. Special attention should be paid to prevent the high temperature at noon on sunny days from "burning the seedlings". If the fertility of the seedbed is insufficient, topdressing should be combined with watering.

If the seedbed is compacted, you can use a small-toothed rake to loosen the soil. Ventilate and harden the seedlings 10 days before transplanting, but also prevent frost damage. The standard for strong seedlings is a seedling height of 16-23cm, 5 to 7 leaves, and a stem thickness of 0.5-0.7cm.
