Don’t do it too many times

Many vegetable farmers believe that the more eggplants they harvest, the higher the benefits. However, the benefits are reduced when there are too many harvests. This is because eggplants have certain growth rules, and only by following these rules can you get high benefits.

The solution is to use a large crop for wintering, and plant one crop a year; use spring and autumn crops, and it is better to plant twice a year. Every summer, leave some time for deep plowing and raining to reduce salt, sun-drying and sterilizing, and sterilizing in the greenhouse to kill insects and mature the soil, so that the eggplant grows well and has high benefits.

The amount of fertilizer should not be too large

Excessive fertilization will cause the soil solution concentration to be too high, the roots will reverse osmosis and die, and the yield will naturally decrease. Especially in the greenhouse, the temperature is high and the humidity is high. Organic fertilizer decomposes quickly, the phosphorus effectiveness is 2 to 3 times higher than that in the open field, and the ammonia volatilization is large. Excessive fertilization is very likely to cause fertilizer damage.

Solution: For greenhouses that have been planted with Solanaceae crops for more than three years, the amount of organic fertilizer applied per mu should be controlled within 5,000 kg, and chemical fertilizers should be buried after application. For plots with high salt concentration, it is necessary to focus on applying cow dung, humic acid fertilizer and EM bacterial fertilizer to increase the soil carbon-nitrogen ratio, loosen the soil for ventilation, and reduce salt and fertilizer damage. At the same time, supplement trace elements such as boron, zinc, and magnesium to balance soil nutrition.

The temperature should not be too high

The upper temperature limit for eggplant is 32°C. If the temperature is too high, respiration will be enhanced, physiological activities will be disordered, fruit setting will be inhibited, plants will grow too long, vegetative growth and reproductive growth will be unbalanced, and the yield will decrease.

The solution is to strictly manage the eggplant according to the temperature required for each growth stage and the suitable temperature requirements for each organ during the growth period, and cool it down in time when high temperature occurs to prevent branches from growing without fruit at high temperature.
