Misunderstandings about eggplant planting and precautions for eggplant planting

Misunderstandings about eggplant planting and precautions for eggplant planting

There may be many misunderstandings when we grow eggplants, that is, there may be some problems. Today I will tell you about it:

Myth 1: More crops means higher income

Many vegetable farmers believe that the more crops they harvest, the better the benefits. However, the result is often too many crops, poor results, and low benefits. This is because eggplant has certain growth rules, and only by following these rules can good results be achieved.

Solution: Use a large crop of overwintering, and plant one crop a year. In spring and autumn, it is better to plant twice a year. If you use the old eggplant plants for regeneration, you can continue to harvest one crop. When the price is low, pull the seedlings and dry them in the field. Every summer, leave some time to deep plow and rain to reduce salt, dry the soil in the sun to kill bacteria, seal the shed to kill insects, and mature the soil. In this way, the eggplant grows well and the benefits are high.

Misunderstandings about eggplant cultivation

Myth 2: Heavy fertilization leads to more results

Excessive fertilization will cause the soil solution concentration to be too high, and the roots will die due to reverse osmosis, and the yield will naturally decrease. Especially in the greenhouse, the temperature is high, the humidity is high, the organic fertilizer decomposes quickly, and the phosphorus effectiveness is 2 to 3 times higher than that in the open field. The amount of ammonia volatilization is large, and excessive fertilization is very likely to cause fertilizer damage.

Solution: For greenhouses that have been planted with Solanaceae crops for more than 3 years, the amount of organic fertilizer applied per mu should be controlled within 5,000 kg, and chemical fertilizers should be buried after application. For plots with high salt concentration, it is necessary to focus on applying cow dung, humic acid fertilizer and EM bacterial fertilizer to increase the soil carbon-nitrogen ratio, loosen the soil for ventilation, and reduce salt and fertilizer damage. Supplement boron, zinc, magnesium, etc. to balance soil nutrients.

Myth 3: High temperature means faster growth

The upper temperature limit for eggplant is 32°C. If the temperature is too high, respiration will be enhanced, physiological activities will be disordered, fruit setting will be inhibited, plants will grow too long, vegetative growth and reproductive growth will be unbalanced, and the yield will decrease.

Solution: Strictly manage the eggplant according to the temperature required for each growth stage and the suitable temperature requirements for each organ during the growth period. Cool down in time when high temperature occurs to prevent branches from growing without fruits due to high temperature.

Myth 4: Frequent spraying leads to fewer diseases

Many vegetable farmers spray pesticides every 2-3 days in the middle and late stages of eggplant growth, believing that frequent spraying can prevent the spread of diseases. In fact, frequent spraying of eggplant in the middle and late stages of growth will not only interfere with its normal synthesis of carbohydrates, but also hinder the production of antibiotics, and reduce its disease resistance.

Solution: Identify the disease and prescribe the right medicine. It is best to choose copper and zinc agents, which can not only kill bacteria, but also enhance the ability of plants to resist the invasion of pathogens and promote the growth of eggplants. Improve the ecological environment. If the humidity is high, the number of plants is large, the branches and leaves are luxuriant, and the ventilation is poor, spraying medicine every day may not be effective. The lower old leaves and diseased leaves should be removed to increase the light transmittance between plants and reduce the humidity in the microenvironment. For dead seedlings caused by soil-borne diseases, attention should be paid to the use of medicine to prevent them during the seedling stage. If the source of the disease is ignored, the disease will be infected in the seedling stage and the disease will break out later. The pathogen has invaded the plant body, and frequent spraying will not produce good results.
