Tomato and broccoli with heart-warming vegetables

Tomato and broccoli with heart-warming vegetables

Winter is coming, so I recommend two heart-protecting vegetables: tomatoes and broccoli:

broccoli

Generally speaking, eating cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower regularly can protect your heart and blood vessels. A recent British study found that the secret of these vegetables' cardiovascular protection lies in a chemical substance that helps prevent cholesterol from forming plaques on the inner wall of the arteries.

Too much cholesterol in the human blood can easily deposit on the inner wall of the artery to form plaques. These plaques can cause arteriosclerosis, eventually leading to excessive narrowing of the blood vessel lumen, insufficient or interrupted blood supply, or secondary thrombosis in the local area, causing myocardial infarction or even sudden death.

tomato

Red and yellow have always been auspicious colors for Chinese people, and there is a home-cooked dish that combines these two colors and is deeply loved by "lazy people" - this is scrambled eggs with tomatoes. Yang Li, a professor at the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, praised this dish and called it a perfect match in the diet. Scrambled eggs with tomatoes is really "turning decay into magic." First of all, eating too many eggs can easily increase cholesterol. Tomatoes are rich in lycopene, which can soften blood vessels and protect the cardiovascular system. Therefore, when eggs "meet" tomatoes, they can avoid the disadvantages of high cholesterol. Secondly, tomatoes are rich in vitamin C and carotene. When fried with eggs, they are a perfect combination of plant protein and animal protein. Finally, tomatoes contain carotene and eggs contain riboflavin. The combination of the two nutrients can improve eyesight.

"This dish is basically suitable for everyone." Yang Li pointed out that the following groups should eat this dish more often: People with blurred vision due to physical weakness or old age, women during and after menstruation, and people with anemia or blood deficiency may wish to eat more scrambled eggs with tomatoes.

However, it should be noted that people with cold stomachs must make sure the tomatoes are fully cooked first when frying tomatoes and eggs. Eating them raw is difficult to digest and will cause stomach discomfort.
