Main ingredients and production process of preserved plum and kidney beans

Today I’m going to tell you how to cook kidney beans. It’s very simple and can be done in an hour. It’s very delicious.

Preserved Plum Kidney Bean Ingredients:

Kidney beans (a small bowl), plums (a small half bowl), hawthorn (a small half bowl), sugar (appropriate amount)

Production process of preserved plum and kidney beans:

1: Wash the kidney beans and soak them in clean water for more than three hours;

2: Put the soaked kidney beans in a pot and cook;

3: Prepare six or seven plums and some dried hawthorns;

4: Put the prepared plums and hawthorns into the pot and cook them together;

5: Put an appropriate amount of sugar and a small amount of salt in the pot;

6: Bring to a boil over high heat, then turn to low heat

7: Cook over low heat for 40 minutes until cooked through; leave it in the pot and soak for another three hours

8: After it cools down naturally, put it in the refrigerator for an hour before taking it out and eating.

Note:

I chose black plums, which are not salty, so I need to add some salt; if you choose salty plums, you don’t need to add salt;

The long soaking time is to shorten the cooking time and make the flavor better;

It tastes better if eaten cold in the refrigerator;

If you want to save time, you can cook it directly in a pressure cooker; but if you don't control the time well, it will be too mushy.

Tips:

White kidney beans are very difficult to cook, so use a pressure cooker. Peanuts are also delicious. They also need to be soaked for a few hours before adding plums and cooking. I have seen that plums are added later. I think it is more flavorful to cook them together. This cold dish is very popular among female compatriots. Generally, one pound of beans is matched with 15 plums.

Tips

If time permits, you can soak the dried kidney beans overnight before cooking them. They can be cooked in a casserole in 1 hour. I cooked them directly without soaking them, which took much longer.

Cooked kidney beans are delicious, and don't throw away the plums. They seem to taste better after cooking, and you can eat them.
