Flammulina velutipes basal rot

Flammulina velutipes basal rot

If you want to get a higher yield of Flammulina velutipes, you must work hard on management, and you must pay close attention to the disease. Today I will tell you how to better prevent and treat the basal rot of Flammulina velutipes.

Symptoms of Flammulina velutipes basal rot:

During the growth and development stage of the fruiting body, the base of the stipe turns dark brown or black and rots. After the base rots, the fruiting body falls over. Although the young mushroom clusters do not fall over when the disease occurs, they cannot continue to grow and develop upwards. In severe cases, the needle-shaped young mushrooms turn black and rot in clusters.

Pathogen of Flammulina velutipes basal rot:

Penicillium phialidum belongs to the subphylum Ascomycota, class Hyphomycetes, order Combretales, family Combretales. The pathogen has white, powdery hyphae on potato sucrose medium. The medium is dark reddish brown and the colonies are pink. Spore stalks grow from aerial hyphae and are symmetrically forked. They are similar to the branches of penicillin, but the conidia at the top of the twig stalks can form long chains up to 400-600 microns. The conidia are oval, single-celled, and colorless.

Occurrence of Flammulina velutipes base rot:

It occurs in all places, and is more common in indoor beds. It often occurs in cottonseed hull raw material cultivation mushroom beds. The water content of the culture medium is too high during the growth stage, and the bed surface has water accumulation for a long time. In addition, it is covered with film for a long time, ventilation is poor, and humidity is too high, which is conducive to its occurrence.

Prevention and control of Flammulina velutipes base rot:

1. Control the appropriate water content during the fruiting body growth stage and remove the water on the bed frequently. It is especially important to remove the accumulated water during the fruiting body resting growth stage.
