Sometimes we worry that we may get poisoned when eating cowpeas, so what should we do? Mild poisoning:Headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, sweating, weakness, chest tightness, blurred vision, poor appetite, etc. The activity of whole blood cholinesterase is generally reduced to 70-50% of the normal value. Moderate cowpea poisoning:In addition to the above symptoms, there are also mild breathing difficulties, muscle tremors, pupil constriction, mental confusion, unsteady walking, sweating, drooling, abdominal pain and diarrhea. The activity of whole blood cholinesterase is generally 50-30% of the normal value. Severe cowpea poisoning:In addition to the above symptoms, there are also coma, convulsions, dyspnea, foaming at the mouth, pulmonary edema, pupil constriction, incontinence, convulsions, respiratory paralysis, etc. The activity of whole blood cholinesterase generally drops below 30%, and timely rescue is required. Early or mild poisoning is often ignored, so it should be distinguished from colds, heatstroke, enteritis and other diseases. Cholinesterase in the blood can be measured where conditions permit. How to deal with cowpea poisoningIf you suspect food poisoning and experience any discomfort, you should immediately go to the nearest hospital for treatment. If severe coma symptoms occur, family members should immediately call the emergency number 120 for help. Before the 120 ambulance arrives, take self-help measures immediately. Generally speaking, the most common method of self-first aid for poisoning is to induce vomiting. For those who have been poisoned for a short time and have no obvious vomiting, drinking concentrated salt water, ginger water or a large amount of warm water is a conventional method to induce vomiting. If you still can't vomit, you can use your fingers or chopsticks to directly stimulate the throat to induce vomiting. However, when coma is caused by food poisoning, it is not advisable to induce vomiting artificially, otherwise it is easy to cause suffocation. Of course, this emergency treatment is not the best way to treat food poisoning, but it is just to buy time for the treatment of acute food poisoning. After emergency treatment, the patient should go to the hospital for treatment immediately. |
