If you drink porridge every morning, I recommend using my usual trick: before going to bed the night before, prepare all the ingredients, put them in the electric stew pot, add water, and set the timer. I usually set the electric stew pot at home to cook porridge for two to three hours, and set it to automatic mode. The time is set to cook before getting up. For example, in the current weather, I set the electric stew pot to work at 3 am and the power is cut off at 6 am. When I get up at around 7 am, the temperature is just right for eating.

2. This time I cooked the porridge thicker. If you like it thinner, just add more water when cooking.

3. Red dates must be pitted (because the pits are hot and some people cannot tolerate it). Eating the jujube flesh alone will not cause hotness. If you fry the millet in advance, it will be more fragrant, easier to expand when cooked, and more glutinous.

4. In addition to being rich in nutrients, millet also contains the highest amount of tryptophan among cereals, which helps regulate sleep.

Prepare the Materials

Wash the millet and drain the water. Wash the red dates and remove the core for later use.

Wash and drain the millet, put it into a pan and fry it over low heat

Fry until dry and fragrant.

Pour the fried millet into the casserole, add the pitted red dates, and pour in enough cold water

Bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer until thickened into porridge (stir constantly to prevent it from sticking to the bottom). If you like sweet, you can add sugar and mix well when eating.
