Which fruits can't be eaten in spring?

Some fruits should be avoided in spring if possible. Let’s take a look at the introduction below!

Introduction

Although it is just spring, many off-season fruits have already appeared on the market. A fruit merchant who has been engaged in the fruit business for many years told reporters that many off-season fruits are ripened and preserved with some chemical substances. In this process, some off-season fruits have become "problem fruits".

1. Strawberry:

Irregularly shaped, large strawberries with a hollow center are usually caused by an overdose of hormones. When strawberries are treated with ripening agents or other hormone drugs, their growth period is shortened, their color becomes fresher, but their flavor becomes lighter.

2. Bananas

In order to make the banana skin look tender and yellow, some unscrupulous vendors use sulfur dioxide to ripen the bananas, but the flesh still tastes hard and not sweet at all. Sulfur dioxide is harmful to the human body.

3. Watermelon

: The excessive use of ripening agents, growth enhancers and highly toxic pesticides makes the watermelon poisonous. The stripes on the rind of this watermelon are uneven, and the flesh is particularly bright after cutting, but the seeds are white, and there is a bad taste in the mouth after eating.

4. Grapes

Some unscrupulous vendors and fruit farmers use the ripening agent ethephon. The user dilutes ethylene with water in proportion, soaks the unripe green grapes in the diluent, and after a day or two, the green grapes turn into purple grapes.

If possible, it is best to buy less off-season fruits and more seasonal fruits. Seasonal fruits mature in the natural environment without the need for ripening agents or excessive preservatives during storage, so they are relatively safe to eat.
