Ingredients: 1-3g dried ginger, 3g galangal, 60g polished rice

"Compendium of Materia Medica" further points out: "All those who see chronic obstruction of the internal organs, blocked joints, blocked meridians, cold numbness, cold dysentery, and stomach nausea and vomiting due to the entry of cold can all use this to save and eliminate the cold." Because it is good at dispelling cold evil from the spleen and stomach, helping the middle-jiao to invade the real syndrome, or the deficiency syndrome of insufficient yang qi. However, this product is mainly used to dispel cold and dispel evil, and it has no special effects in relieving pain, stopping vomiting, and stopping diarrhea. Therefore, it is often combined with products that replenish yang, replenish qi, stop pain, and reduce adverse reactions and stop diarrhea according to the symptoms to fully address the symptoms.

Alpinia galanga is also good at warming and dispersing cold evil in the spleen and stomach, but its analgesic and anti-vomiting effects are more significant. The combination of the two medicines is the Erjiang Decoction in "Hejijufang". Although this prescription has a strong warming effect, it is also more dry and hot, and has a strong spicy taste. Now it is changed into a diet therapy and cooked into porridge for consumption, which can better promote its strengths and avoid its weaknesses.

Modern research shows that dried ginger contains gingerol, gingerol and a variety of amino acids. 3-5g Sichuan pepper, 90g white flour, 3 slices of ginger. First grind Sichuan pepper into very fine powder, take an appropriate amount each time and mix it with flour, add it into water to cook porridge, then add ginger and cook for a while. The efficacy and indications are similar to the above, but the effect of warming the middle and dispelling cold, soothing the stomach and relieving pain is stronger. Sichuan pepper is a hot and slightly toxic product with a strong numbing taste, so it should not be used too much when cooking porridge, and it should not be taken for too long.

2. Evodia rutaecarpa porridge (Food and Materia Medica)

2 grams of Evodia rutaecarpa, 2 slices of ginger, 2 stems of scallion, 30-60 grams of polished rice. Grind Evodia rutaecarpa into fine powder, cook porridge with polished rice first, add Evodia rutaecarpa powder, ginger and scallion after the rice is cooked, cook into porridge, 1-2 times a day. Efficacy warms the spleen and stomach, dries dampness, soothes the liver, relieves pain and stops vomiting. It is mainly used to treat cold pain in the abdomen, vomiting and acid regurgitation, diarrhea, headache, hernia pain, etc. Evodia rutaecarpa is a bitter, hot and slightly toxic product. It is good at treating stomach pain, vomiting, acid regurgitation caused by liver and stomach disharmony, as well as cold pain in the abdomen and diarrhea caused by spleen and stomach cold. It is especially effective in relieving pain and stopping vomiting. Because of its strong smell and slight poison, the dosage should not be too large, otherwise it may cause chest discomfort, dizziness, and even visual impairment and illusion.

3. Piper longum porridge (Health Food Guide)

2-4g Piper longum, 1-3g Pepper, 60g glutinous rice. First grind the two herbs into very fine powder. Cook porridge with glutinous rice, add the above two herbs after boiling, and cook into thick porridge. The efficacy and indications are the same as above.

4. Chicken Stewed with Galangal (from "Yinshi Zhengyao")

6g each of galangal and tsaoko, 3g each of tangerine peel and pepper, 1 rooster, appropriate amount of green onion and salt. Remove the hair and internal organs of the rooster, wash it, cut it into pieces, put it into the pot with galangal, tsaoko, tangerine peel, pepper and green onion, add appropriate amount of water, simmer until the chicken is cooked.
