Xiebai Congee Knowledge Introduction

Porridge recipe ingredients: 10 grams of Allium macrostemon (double the amount if fresh), 100 grams of rice or white flour, 2 stalks of scallion, and 3 slices of ginger.

Cooking method: Select the two whites and ginger, chop them, mix them with white flour with cold water, put them into a boiling water pot, cook them into porridge, or cook them with rice and take them, 1 dose per day.

Efficacy: relieve chest pain, promote qi and blood circulation.

Indications: Suitable for chest and flank pain, chest pain, angina pectoris caused by coronary heart disease, acute and chronic dysentery, enteritis, etc.

Explanation of the meaning of porridge: Xiebai, also known as wild garlic and small single garlic, is the underground bulb of the perennial herb Allium macrostemon and Allium scabra of the Liliaceae family. It is distributed in most parts of my country. The large, plump, yellow-white and translucent ones are preferred for use as medicine.

The clinical application of Xiebai has a long history. In the Treatise on Febrile and Miscellaneous Diseases written by Zhang Zhongjing, a famous medical scientist in the Eastern Han Dynasty, the famous prescription "Trichosanthes and Xiebai White Wine Soup" for treating chest pain and heart pain uses Xiebai as the main medicine, which is quite effective for chest pain that spreads to the back and back pain that spreads to the heart. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that Xiebai is pungent, bitter, and warm in nature and enters the lung, stomach, and large intestine meridians. It has the functions of promoting yang and dispersing nodules, promoting qi and removing stagnation. This product is pungent and dispersing stagnation, bitter and relieving phlegm, warm and smooth, and good at dispersing stagnation of yin and cold. It is an important medicine for treating chest pain and heart pain. The Compendium of Materia Medica says that it "treats Shaoyin disease, syncope, diarrhea, and chest pain, and relieves qi and blood." "Changsha Yaojie" says, "Lung disease is counter-current, turbid qi does not descend, so the chest and diaphragm are blocked; intestinal disease is sunken, clear qi does not rise, so the anus is heavy and drooping. Xiebai is good at dispersing stagnation, so the obstruction is relieved and becomes harmonious, and the heavy is relieved and becomes light and clear." When used together with scallion and ginger, it can enhance its ability to promote yang and dissipate stagnation, so it is very effective for chest obstruction, heart pain, enteritis and diarrhea.

Note:

1. "Sui Xi Ju Diet" says "eating too much will cause fever, and it should not be taken with leeks";

2. It is not suitable for people with qi deficiency, weak stomach, poor appetite, and intolerance to garlic.
