Effects of Shenghua Tang Congee

Effects of Shenghua Tang Congee

I believe many friends are still not clear about the effects of Shenghua Tang porridge. Let’s learn about it together below.

Shenghua Tang Congee

Modern pharmacological research has shown that Shenghua Tang has the effects of enhancing uterine smooth muscle contraction, anti-thrombotic, anti-anemic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic. Shenghua Tang can treat postpartum blood deficiency and cold, abdominal pain caused by uterine stasis, postpartum lochia retention, lower abdominal cold pain, etc.

The efficacy of Shenghua Tang porridge

Shenghua Tang is mainly composed of angelica, Chuanxiong, peach heart, roasted old ginger, and roasted licorice. Angelica can nourish and replenish blood, Chuanxiong can promote blood circulation, and peach heart can break up blood and dissolve blood stasis. The purpose of the whole prescription is to nourish blood, promote blood circulation, replenish blood, and remove lochia.

Necessity of drinking Shenghua Tang

After the fetus and placenta are delivered, the uterus relies on muscle contraction to compress blood vessels to stop bleeding. If the contraction is not good, these blood vessels will continue to open and cause bleeding. If blood clots are formed and accumulated in the uterine cavity, the contraction of the uterine muscle layer will be worse, and the bleeding will worsen. Therefore, maintaining the contraction of the uterine muscle layer is the most important. Next, the endometrial layer must be well rebuilt and regenerated, which is related to future pregnancy. This process begins 2 to 3 days after delivery. Except for the part where the placenta implanted, the rest of the new endometrium is completed within 7 to 10 days after delivery.

The regeneration of the endometrium in the placenta implantation area is more complicated. The blood clots in this area must be shed off before the new endometrium can grow completely. The shedding process generally takes about 2 weeks, sometimes even 6 weeks. The real effect of Shenghua Tang is during this period. Therefore, the best time to drink Shenghua Tang is about 2 to 3 days after delivery, and about 7 to 10 days.

Love tips

For women who have already had lochia and blood stasis discharged smoothly, and have no lower abdominal pain (i.e. uterine contraction) and other symptoms, Shenghua Tang is not necessary. This is because this prescription has the effect of removing blood stasis and will cause bleeding. Some women who have excessive postpartum bleeding and the blood stasis has been cleared should not take Shenghua Tang.
