Passion fruit seed sowing method and planting techniques

Passion fruit seed sowing method and planting techniques

I bought some passion fruit when I went to the south some time ago. After eating, there were a lot of passion fruit seeds left. At this time, I wanted to plant passion fruit at home. After consulting relevant information, I found that this idea is indeed feasible, but you should pay attention to the sowing method of passion fruit seeds. Later, after experiments, it was successfully planted. Today I will write down the passion fruit seed planting method I summarized and tell you. If you like passion fruit, you can also try to plant some at home.

1. Soil

When sowing passion fruit seeds, you must choose suitable soil. This plant likes loose, fertile, well-aired, and slightly acidic high-quality soil. In addition, you must apply sufficient base fertilizer before sowing. Fertilizer can be decomposed cake fertilizer or other organic fertilizer. The soil can be prepared with peat soil, river sand, and garden soil.

2. Soak

Passion fruit seeds are the seeds of passion fruit. Their shells are relatively hard and difficult to germinate. They need to be soaked in warm water for a period of time before germination. The soaking time for mature seeds should not be less than ten hours. Under normal circumstances, passion fruit seeds can be soaked for 5 to 6 hours before germination.

3. Germination

Passion fruit seeds must be germinated before sowing. The germination process is just like growing bean sprouts. You can use a wet towel or gauze to wrap the soaked passion fruit seeds directly in it, and then place them in a warm environment without light. Rinse them with warm water once in the morning and afternoon every day. After a week, the passion fruit seeds will sprout.

4. Planting seeds

After the passion fruit seeds grow small sprouts, they can be sown directly. At this time, you need to dig the soil in the flowerpot, dig a small hole about ten centimeters, then put the passion fruit seeds in, cover them lightly with soil, and then press them with your hands. Don't press too hard to avoid crushing the sprouts. After pressing, water it enough and place it in a warm environment. After five or six days, you will see the passion fruit seedlings grow.
