Materials for making hawthorn wine

When making hawthorn wine, you need to prepare 1,500 grams of hawthorn, 50 grams of liquor (it is best to prepare high-proof liquor), 400 grams of sugar and a piece of gauze, and you also need to prepare a large-mouthed bottle.

How to make hawthorn wine

1. Wash the prepared hawthorns with clean water, remove all the insects and wounds. Then remove the core, stalk and stem of the washed hawthorns.

2. Wash the prepared large bottle with water to remove moisture and avoid oil. Put the processed hawthorn into the bottle and mash it. Put the hawthorn into about two-thirds of the bottle. Don't fill it too full, otherwise it will be detrimental to fermentation.

3. Put the prepared white sugar into the bottle and mix well, then add a small amount of white wine. If you don’t want the hawthorn wine to have a strong alcohol flavor, you can also not add white wine.

4. Put the lid on the bottle, seal it and place it in a warm place for fermentation. Open and stir it every three to four days. After about two months, the hawthorn will be fermented. Take it out and filter it with gauze. Put the liquid into the bottle. The homemade hawthorn wine is ready to drink.
