How to tell if durian is ripe

How to tell if durian is ripe

Durian is a specialty fruit in the south. It has multiple protrusions on the surface, thick flesh, and a special smell. However, this fruit is rich in nutrients and contains a variety of nutrients needed by the human body. After eating it, people can effectively improve their health and meet the needs of various organs of the body for different nutrients. However, when people buy durian, they often buy unripe durian, which they cannot eat after returning home, which is very depressing. So how do you tell whether the durian is ripe? In fact, there are many techniques to see whether the durian is ripe. I will tell you these tips in a while, so that you can easily tell whether the durian is ripe.

How to tell if durian is ripe

1. Look at the color of the durian

Friends who often buy durian may find that the colors of durian sold on the market are different. When buying, you should choose yellow or brown durian. These two colors of durian are ripe. Be sure not to buy green durian. Durian of that color is not ripe at all.

2. Look at the elasticity of durian

You can also tell whether the durian is ripe by looking at its elasticity. The easiest way is to squeeze the thorns on the surface of the durian with your hands. If your hand feels very elastic, it means the durian is ripe. If it feels very hard, it means the durian is not ripe at all.

3. Check if the durian has cracks

When buying durian, you will see that some durians have tiny cracks on the surface. If you look through them, you can see the yellow flesh. Such durians are ripe. If the durian has no cracks and is very hard, it means that the durian is not ripe. If you look through the tiny cracks and see black flesh, do not buy it, because such durian is overripe and is about to go bad.
