The efficacy, eating methods and preparation methods of pears

Pears are often used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat coughs. In addition to being eaten as fresh fruit, pears can also be used as Chinese medicine.

Health Benefits of Pears

1. Pears contain more sugars and multiple vitamins, which are easily absorbed by the human body, can increase appetite, and have a protective effect on the liver. In particular, pears are rich in B vitamins, which can protect the heart, relieve fatigue, enhance myocardial vitality, and lower blood pressure.

2. The glycosides and tannic acid contained in pears can eliminate phlegm and relieve cough, and have a nourishing effect on the throat; the pectin content in pears is very high, which helps digestion and facilitates bowel movements.

3. Eating pears can also prevent atherosclerosis and inhibit the formation of carcinogenic nitrosamines, thereby preventing and fighting cancer.

How to store pears

Pears are tender and juicy. During storage, temperature control is more stringent than that of apples. Therefore, pears should be protected from damage during packaging and transportation. It is best to store them separately. Since pears lose water quickly, the relative humidity in the storage warehouse should be kept above 90%, and polyethylene film lining should be added to the packaging box. The top can be left unsealed or holes can be made in the lining to prevent excessive carbon dioxide concentration from causing physiological disorders in the pears and causing diseases.

Food precautions

1. Pears are especially suitable for people who cough with thick phlegm or no phlegm, itchy and dry throat, patients with chronic bronchitis, tuberculosis, hypertension, heart disease, hepatitis, cirrhosis, and people who have been drinking or are still hungover.

2. Patients with chronic enteritis, cold stomach disease and diabetes should avoid eating raw pears.

Liyuan was originally another name for the ancient opera troupe. According to the "New Book of Tang Dynasty? Rituals and Music", "Xuanzong knew music and loved French music. He selected 300 young men from the sitting department to teach in Liyuan. If there was a mistake in the sound, the emperor would find it and correct it. They were called the emperor's Liyuan disciples." It can be seen that it was set up by the court during the reign of Xuanzong. The main responsibility of Liyuan was to train instrumentalists. It was on par with the Taichang Temple, which was responsible for rituals and music, and the Neiwai Jiaofang, which was responsible for performing songs, dances and scattered music. Later generations called the opera world Liyuan or Liyuan, and opera actors Liyuan disciples. During the reign of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty (712-756), the so-called "Kaiyuan Prosperity", the development of feudal economy and culture reached an unprecedented height. Not only did it create a group of famous writers and poets at home and abroad, but it also achieved outstanding achievements in the fields of dance and music. The "Liyuan", which occupies an important position in the history of Chinese opera, was born in this fertile soil of the Tang Dynasty.
