The medical effects of longan meat

Longan meat, also known as longan, litchi slave, sub-litchi, round eye, Yizhi, honey spleen, etc., is the aril of the longan plant of the Sapindaceae family, and longan is its dried product. Modern pharmacological research believes that it has the effects of anti-pathogenic microorganisms, anti-aging, anti-stress, increasing the weight of immune organs, increasing weight, and anti-cancer. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that it is sweet, warm, non-toxic, enters the heart and spleen meridians, and has the effects of benefiting the heart and spleen, replenishing qi and blood, and calming the mind. It is suitable for anemia, shortness of breath, palpitations, insomnia, forgetfulness, neurasthenia, and physical weakness after illness and postpartum, intestinal wind and blood, spleen deficiency diarrhea, postpartum edema, etc.

How to eat longan meat

1. Eat fresh longan meat raw, in appropriate amounts daily for 3 to 7 days. It has the effect of promoting fluid production and moistening dryness. It is suitable for symptoms such as yin deficiency, lack of fluid, heat in the heart, dry throat, cough and little sputum.

2. Longan and Egg Soup (Porridge) 50g longan meat, 1 egg. Wash and boil with water, beat in the egg after 15 minutes; or add 100g rice or glutinous rice, wash the above three ingredients, add water and cook porridge, add appropriate amount of brown sugar after the porridge is cooked, and eat. It is used for postpartum care and irregular menstruation.

3. Longan and lotus seed soup (porridge): 12-15g longan meat, 12g lotus seeds (without core), 10g Euryale ferox, 9g Poria, wash and decoct together, take once in the morning and evening; or 100g rice or glutinous rice, wash the above four ingredients, add water and cook porridge, add appropriate amount of brown sugar after the porridge is cooked, mix well and eat. It is used to treat palpitations and spontaneous sweating caused by deficiency of both heart and spleen, and also treat anemia and neurasthenia.

4. Longan and Red Date Soup (Porridge) 10g of longan flesh and 10g of red dates, wash and cook with water; or add 100g of rice or glutinous rice, wash the above three ingredients, add water and cook porridge, add appropriate amount of brown sugar after the porridge is cooked and mix well, then eat. It is used for patients with palpitations, insomnia, forgetfulness, poor appetite and other diseases caused by insufficient Qi and blood in the heart and spleen, or for those with insufficient Qi and blood. Adding lotus seeds to the porridge will have a better effect.
