How to grow hyacinths How to grow hyacinths

Hyacinthus is a special plant species native to the Mediterranean coast. It is also called daffodil or five-color daffodil. It is a common plant of the Hyacinthaceae family of the Asparagales order. Now it is also a hot-selling variety in the domestic flower market. It has bright and varied colors and can bloom around the Spring Festival, which is very beneficial to increase the festive atmosphere. But how should this plant be raised? How can we usually raise hyacinth? The following editor will tell you in detail.

[Warning] The whole plant of hyacinth is poisonous

1. Selection and processing of bulbs

Most people choose to buy bulbs when growing hyacinths, but when selecting bulbs, you must choose those that are plump, fresh and healthy. After purchasing, you must remove the old skin and roots on the surface, and then disinfect it with potassium permanganate for a quarter of an hour. After disinfection, take it out and remove the moisture on the surface. It should take about 24 hours naturally.

2. Planting method

Prepare loose and fertile culture soil in the flowerpot, and then plant the processed hyacinth bulbs directly into the potting soil. When planting, the top of the hyacinth bulb can be exposed about 0.5 cm outside. After planting, water it enough. After a few days, new buds will grow on the hyacinth bulbs.

3. Daily maintenance

After hyacinth sprouts, the temperature of the growing environment must be raised. Only in this way can hyacinth bloom early. The temperature of hyacinth cultivation should be controlled at about 15 to 20 degrees. If the temperature is lower than ten degrees, hyacinth will grow slowly, but when the temperature is higher than 25 degrees, hyacinth will have a blind flower phenomenon, resulting in failure to bloom normally. At this time, attention should be paid to temperature regulation, and it should be allowed to receive sufficient sunlight to increase environmental permeability.

4. Flowering period management

The flowering period of hyacinth is about 10 to 15 days. After it blooms, I can lower the indoor temperature relatively, which can effectively prolong its flowering period, but it must receive sufficient sunlight every day, otherwise its flowers will wither quickly. After the hyacinth flowers wither, the remaining flowers should be removed in time, and sufficient fertilizer should be applied to cultivate its bulbs. Only in this way can it bloom again next year.
