Hyacinth cultivation methods and precautions

1. How to grow hyacinth

There are two ways to grow hyacinths: one is potted and the other is water-growing. When growing hyacinths in pots, loose and fertile soil should be selected. Planting should be done in October each year. One bulb can be planted in each pot. After about 120 days, the hyacinths will bloom. After blooming, its seed heads should be preserved. There is hope that they will bloom again in the second year. When growing hyacinths in water, you can put the seed heads of hyacinths in water in December. Put some charcoal in the water for growing hyacinths, which can purify the water quality.

2. Temperature for growing hyacinths

Temperature is very important if you want to grow hyacinth well. Hyacinth is a plant that is very cold-resistant and avoids dryness and heat. When the temperature is high in summer, the bulbs should be taken out, wrapped in cotton cloth and placed in a cool place to let it dormant. Replant it after the temperature drops in autumn. If the bulbs are not protected in summer, they may rot.

3. Lighting for growing hyacinths

If you want to grow hyacinth well, light is also very important, especially when hyacinth is blooming, you should move it indoors to avoid strong light exposure, so that it can bloom longer. In addition, if you want to grow hyacinth well, it is best to put it in a bright area where it can receive sunlight for three or four hours a day. In addition, when the outside temperature is too high, pay attention to spraying water on the leaves of hyacinth, otherwise it will shrink its neck, which will directly affect its flowering period.
