How to grow hyacinths? Techniques for growing hyacinths

Hyacinthus is a species of plant in the Liliaceae family. It has bulbs and can produce beautiful spike-shaped flowers. This plant has strong vitality, a relatively long flowering period, and a very high ornamental value. People usually want to grow and raise it at home, but it is not an easy task to raise hyacinth well. You must master its cultivation methods and techniques.

[Warning] The whole plant of hyacinth is poisonous

How to grow hyacinth

1. When growing hyacinths, you should prepare fresh bulbs, and then prepare potassium permanganate solution. Soak the prepared hyacinth bulbs in the potassium permanganate solution. This can play a certain disinfection role, prevent the bulbs from rotting after planting, and is also conducive to rapid rooting. After disinfection, the hyacinth bulbs should be placed in a cool place to dry.

2. Prepare fertile, loose, slightly acidic soil in the flowerpot, and then plant the prepared hyacinth bulbs directly into the soil. It is best to cover the soil with the bulbs up to two centimeters high. If the bulbs have sprouted, be sure to let their buds show outside the soil. After planting, water them sufficiently.

Hyacinth cultivation techniques

1. There are certain methods and techniques for growing hyacinth. Within 10 to 20 days after planting, it should be placed in a cool environment of about ten degrees to promote germination. During this period, it should not be watered excessively. It should be watered every 7 to 8 days, and watered thoroughly. Do not allow water to accumulate in the flowerpot. Wait until its shoots grow to four or five centimeters before moving it to a warmer environment.

2. After hyacinth is moved to a warm environment, its growth rate will be particularly fast. Its flowering time can be controlled by adjusting the temperature. It grows fastest when the outside temperature is between 15 and 20 degrees. It will stop growing when it is below 10 degrees, and will appear blind when it is above 25 degrees. The flowering period of hyacinth is about 10 to 15 days. After it enters the flowering period, it should be moved to a relatively low temperature environment, which can effectively prolong the flowering period and improve its ornamental value.
