What is the nutritional value of rapeseed oil? How to make rapeseed oil

Rapeseed oil is what we commonly call rapeseed oil, also known as coriander oil. It is a transparent or translucent liquid obtained by squeezing the seeds of the cruciferous plant Brassica rapa (i.e. rapeseed). Rapeseed oil is golden or brown in color and has a certain pungent smell, which is called "green smell" by the people. This gas is caused by a certain amount of mustard glycosides in it, but the superior varieties of rapeseed do not contain this substance. It is one of the main edible oils in my country, mainly produced in the Yangtze River Basin and the southwest and northwest regions, and its output ranks first in the world.

What is the nutritional value of rapeseed oil

1. The absorption rate of rapeseed oil by the human body is very high, up to 99%. Therefore, the unsaturated fatty acids such as linoleic acid and vitamin E and other nutrients it contains can be well absorbed by the body, and have certain effects of softening blood vessels and delaying aging;

2. Since the raw material for oil extraction is plant seeds, it generally contains a certain amount of seed phospholipids, which are very important for the development of blood vessels, nerves, and brain;

3. Rapeseed oil contains little or no cholesterol, so people who control their cholesterol intake can eat it with confidence;

4. Rapeseed oil is an oil with a particularly high erucic acid content. Whether it will cause myocardial fat deposition and heart damage is still controversial. Therefore, patients with coronary heart disease and hypertension should be careful to eat less rapeseed oil.

Rapeseed Oil Notes

It is edible for most people.

Patients with coronary heart disease and hypertension should eat less.

Rapeseed Oil Production Guide

1. Oils have a certain shelf life. Do not eat oils that have been stored for too long.

2. Because it has some "green smell", it is not suitable to be used directly in cold dishes.

3. Avoid repeated use of oil that has been heated at high temperatures.

4. Since rapeseed oil lacks essential fatty acids such as oleic acid and its composition is unbalanced, its nutritional value is slightly lower than that of general vegetable oils. Therefore, it is advisable to eat less rapeseed oil if conditions permit. If it is consumed with high-quality edible oil rich in linoleic acid, its nutritional value will be improved.

Dietary effects

According to traditional Chinese medicine theory, rapeseed oil is sweet, spicy and warm in nature;

It can moisturize, kill insects, disperse heat, and reduce swelling and toxicity. It is clinically used for ascaris and food-induced intestinal obstruction with good results.

Other related

It was first mentioned in Tiangong Kaiwu: "Of all oils used for cooking and consumption... rapeseed is second only to it."

Yao Kecheng's "Food Materia Medica" also said that vegetable oil "can be applied to the head to make the hair grow black. It can promote the flow of blood, break up cold air, reduce swelling and disperse nodules. It can treat difficult labor, postpartum heart and abdominal diseases, red and red heat swelling, and bloody hemorrhoids from wounds."

The Compendium of Materia Medica says that rapeseed "after being fried and pressed, turns into oil, which is yellow in color and shines very brightly when lit by a lamp, but is not as edible as sesame oil. Recently, people have planted it widely because of the profit from the oil."
