How to plant Verbena? How to plant Verbena

Verbena is a perennial herb. It is native to South America and Brazil and was later introduced to all parts of the world. It is now planted on a large scale in many parts of China. It can be planted in gardens and scenic spots and can also be made into potted plants for people to appreciate. However, some people still don’t know how to plant verbena, so I will focus on introducing it today.

How to grow verbena

1. Planting environment

When planting verbena, you must choose a suitable planting environment for it. This plant likes to grow in a warm environment of 20 to 30 degrees, and has particularly poor cold resistance. In addition, verbena likes sufficient sunlight and water during its growth process. It does not have high requirements for the soil, but requires the soil to have good drainage capabilities.

2. Breeding method

When planting verbena, you must also master its correct propagation method. Verbena has many different ways of propagation. It can be propagated by sowing, cuttings, and division. It is most suitable to propagate it by cuttings when making it into a potted plant. If you want to plant willow-leaf verbena on a large scale, it is best to propagate it by sowing. The sowing time is from January to February each year. It takes about 3 to 4 months from sowing to flowering.

How to plant verbena

1. When planting verbena on a large scale, be sure to maintain a good spacing between plants and rows. The spacing between plants should be about 40 cm, and the spacing between rows should be about 60 cm. After it is planted, maintain good soil conditions and give it enough water. After verbena enters the peak growth season, water and weed in time. When it grows to about 30 cm, loosen the soil and then water it enough.

2. When planting verbena, you must control the environmental humidity. For large-scale planting, water it every 10 days or so during its growing season. After the rainy season, be careful not to allow water to accumulate in the field. If it is planted in a pot, water it every 3 to 5 days. Water it thoroughly, but do not allow water to accumulate in the pot. After entering the hot summer, pay attention to ventilation and reduce the air humidity. Only in this way can the verbena thrive and bloom more and more beautiful flowers.
