Many people like to keep various potted flowers and plants at home. They not only beautify the indoor environment, but also purify the air and provide people with pleasure. However, if you want to grow these potted flowers and plants well, you must prepare the right soil. Different flowers and plants like different soils. Today, I will introduce some soil preparation methods to give you a comprehensive understanding of the preparation of soil for succulent plants.

How to prepare flower soil

Because every plant in nature has different requirements for soil when growing, when people grow potted plants, they must also adjust the flower soil as the plants change. The most important materials for preparing flower soil are garden soil, peat soil and leaf mold, followed by wood ash and manure soil. After preparing the materials, you can determine the ratio between them according to the growth habits of the plants.

The simplest way to prepare soil for succulents

1. When preparing flower soil for succulents, you must first prepare an appropriate amount of clay particles. Because this type of clay particles is relatively large, it can be placed at the bottom of the flower pot. This can increase the permeability of the flower soil, prevent water from accumulating in the flower pot, and prevent water from accumulating at the roots of succulents during growth.

2. When preparing the flower soil for succulents, you must also prepare an appropriate amount of peat soil. Because peat soil has good water retention and air permeability, it is the most suitable soil for the growth of succulents. This material should account for about 1/3 of the flower soil for succulents. The flower soil with peat soil contains a large number of microorganisms and can promote the reproduction of new microorganisms, which has a good promoting effect on the growth of succulents.

3. Prepare the nutrient soil for succulent plants. Sand and vermiculite are also two essential raw materials. You can mix the prepared river sand and the prepared peat soil together, then add the vermiculite, put it in the flower pot filled with ceramsite, water it enough and let it ferment in the sun. After it is fermented, you can transplant the succulent plants in your home into these flower soils. When preparing the nutrient soil for succulent plants, you can also add an appropriate amount of moss and diatomaceous earth. The flower soil prepared in this way is not easy to have pests, which is very beneficial to the normal growth of succulent plants.
