Nutritional analysis of Pu'er rose porridge

Roses are flowers of the Rosaceae family. Roses and double roses are deciduous shrubs native to northern China and are now cultivated throughout the country. The largest number of roses is in Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Guangdong. Before the peak flowering period from May to June, the fully expanded but unopened buds are picked and dried over a slow fire or in the shade; or after picking, they are put into paper bags and stored in lime jars, which are sealed and replaced with new lime every year during the rainy season.

Rose buds are ovate, hemispherical or irregular masses, 1 to 2.5 cm in diameter, with a pot-shaped or hemispherical receptacle connected to the base of the calyx. There are 5 sepals, lanceolate, yellow-brown or brown-green, with fine soft hairs on the inner surface, 5 or double petals, broadly ovate, mostly wrinkled, purple-red, a few yellow-brown. There are many stamens, yellow-brown, light and brittle. The aroma is strong, and the taste is slightly bitter and astringent.

The best ones are those with large buds, complete and thick petals, bright purple color, no exposed stamens, and strong fragrance.

Processing: Take the original medicinal materials, remove impurities and stems, and sieve out the ash. After processing, store in a dry container, seal it, and place it in a cool and dry place to prevent moisture.
